Subject: Lost Local Keyboard and mouse - Help!

I was controlling a WIN NT machine and I had disabled local keyboard and
mouse. Now the local
keyboard and mouse do not work and VNC is not running as a service. The
machine boots and I cannot
log in to it as the keyboard and mouse no longer work. During the bios
boot the keyboard does work
it is after NT starts it doesn't

How do I get the local keyboard and mouse control back? How do I boot NT
so the keyboard works so
I can fix it?

Any help appreciated.

Are you talking about the "Disable Local Keyboard and Pointer" setting
in the VNC server? In that case, if the VNC server is not running, or
if no clients are connected, then it will have no effect on the keyboard
and mouse, and your problem must be caused by something else.

If you actually mean that you set VNCviewer to default to view-only mode
(no keyboard or mouse input) then simple change the default in the
Viewer, back to normal.

If you actually mean that you set the VNC server to disable keyboard and
mouse input from VNC clients and you can't easily get local access to
the machine, then run regedit, connect it to the problem machine, and
remove the DisableRemoteInputs registry key under
HKLM/Software/ORL/WinVNC3/Default or HKCU/Software/ORL/WinVNC3.

Cheers,
