It's the most recent binary version I found. 3.3.6 won't compile of my
Alpha for lack of C++.

I already had Dtlogin*terminateServer: true which should apply to all
displays, but I added the line you suggested and changed Xservers, and
restarted xlogin.
But I'm getting random errors in /var/dt/Xerrors, a maximal list is
New 'X' desktop is ouranos.mi.iasf.cnr.it:1
Starting applications specified in /.vnc/xstartup
Log file is /.vnc/ouranos.mi.iasf.cnr.it:1.log
Xlib: Client is not authorized to connect to Server^M
xset: unable to open display ":1"
Xlib: connection to ":1.0" refused by server^M
Xlib: Client is not authorized to connect to Server^M
and so on repeated many times
A VNC server is already running as :1
Fri Feb 21 09:39:45 2003
error (pid 4000): Server unexpectedly died
Fri Feb 21 09:39:50 2003
error (pid 4000): Server for display :1 can't be started.
A minimal one is
Fri Feb 21 09:58:00 2003
error (pid 4483): Server unexpectedly died
Fri Feb 21 09:58:05 2003
error (pid 4483): Server for display :1 can't be started.
at the end an Xvnc instance is running, but when I connect to it, it comes
out either with a black screen with the hourglass, or a gray screen, not
the dtlogin screen (which came out with -once -query).

Experimentally, it appears that I *NEED* to put -query to have the
dtlogin mask appear.
And that I NEED the -once for the logout procedure to work. If I have
-once, when I press the logout button, the viewer terminates (and also the
server). If I do not have it, when I press logout the viewer remains, and
if press it again it gives me a "TT something error no match" ..." ...
this was the customary arrangement when I "jumped in" into a Solaris CDE
session with the VNC started and killed via rsh).
oh oh ... new ! I just left the hung viewer there without killing the
server, and after a while (that's why I haven't copied the exact text of
the error message), it did show the login mask again ... but apparently
in a window WITHIN the previous workspace ... if I try to login again it
gives my old session ... with the hourglass ... and after some time
it displays a second instance of a new session on top of the previous !!
If I do not receive better info, I suppose I'll try to start the server in
-once -query via rsh before each connection.

Hmm... I'm not that familiar with this. Since both machines will at the
end be identical (they are identical h/w, and will have the same OS
version at the end), I suppose I can use the same font path used by the
main X server ... but how can find what it is ? Is there a command to know
the current font path for display :0 ? I looked at the man pages for
xfd xfs xfontsel xlsfonts xlsclients but they do not seem the good ones.
