I was wondering if it was possible to prevent users from shutting down the service via Ctrl+Alt+Del if the user has admin rights on the local machine (WinXP). I have tried adding the following key and was not successful;
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORL\WinVNC3\Default\AllowShutdown=0] I have successfully used this reg entry on W2K PRO and SERVER products but not XP PRO. For some reason administrators on XP can override most system generated processes that is not possible on W2K. Does anyone know of another way to tackle this; possible a local/domain GPO, other reg entries, etc? My company implements various domain level and OU level GPOs preventing varying levels of desktop lockdown - one of which is disabling registry tools for domain users. It is for this reason a a registry level solution would be preferable.
