Hi, all --

I'm somewhat perplexed about the best way to serve up the display on my
laptop. With a central server, it's easy; you connect to that machine
from wherever you are, even logging in via the graphical login the first
time, and your machine is basically a dumb client.

When I was running Windows on my laptop it was easy, too; I logged in
and worked as usual and also ran WinVNC, and then I could connect to my
desktop from anywhere else and see the same thing.

Now that I've switched my laptop over to linux, that model doesn't work
any more (or does it -- can I serve out a running :0 a la Windows?). How
do I log in and do my local development but also be able to connect to
that running session from anywhere else?

The closest I've come is to have a vnc (or any other name) as whom I log
in and then connect to my davidtg vnc session. That seems cumbersome,
though. Is there a better way?

TIA & HAND

:-D
