Hi Christian,
There is a way that will allow the user on the remote PC to kill any
active connections....
It's a bit of a botch/bodge but it works :D
Create a batch file in your Winvnc/TightVNC/RealVNC program folder (where
the winvnc.exe lives).
Put 2 lines into the batch file:
winvnc -kill
winvnc -run
Or if you are running NT4/W2K/XP just use Net stop and net start in the
batch file.
Then create a shortcut on the desktop of the PC. Edit the properties of
the shortcut to ensure that it closes once it's done, or add exit to the
end of the batch file.
But in the properties of the shortcut you can add a "Shortcut key" to run
it :D
The only other thing you'll have to remember is to make sure you've got a
"User Settings" password set as well as the "Default Settings" one :)
Yes, my solution is a total bodge, but it's the only thing i can think of
right atm.
Best of luck :)
Daniel

Subject: can the server close the connection
Hello list,
I searched the archives, but unfortunately did not find information about
this; maybe you have some pointers for me.
Here's the "problem": When I connect to a VNC server, sometimes the person
on the other end would like to close the connection at his/her request.
Since I (as the client) am controlling the mouse pointer, this is no easy
task; I could possibly prevent this by always moving the mouse pointer
away
far enough from the task tray. Question: is there a possibility for the
server user to close the connection using a special keyboard shortcut?
Regards
Christian
