Problem connecting with net name on Windows XP

Hello, i have two computers with windows XP on both of them, from one i can
connect vnc using the ip or the net name of the other but from the other one i
can connect to the first one only by using the ip number because when i put
the net name y takes a while and then sayd can connect to server. If someone
knows why is this please tell before i get insane looking for a solution.
