It seems to me that Xvnc will always allow localhost connections. 
According to the current docs the "-localhost" switch makes Xvnc "Only
allow connections from the same machine.", as opposed to WinVNC which
requires a registry entry to allow localhost connections.  Could be
different in the older version, though.

Any possibility of allowing outside connections temporarily to make sure
that works?
