Advantages: A VNC Viewer application is /not/ required to connect to a
VNC Server.

Reason: Convenience, I guess.  Because they could?!?  Because it's
kewl?!?

I have noticed that with real4b3, the Java app worked remarkably well -- 
actually a lot better than vncviewer via SSH Tunnel[1].
