First off, it sounds like you are setting the current user settings and
not the default settings. Check the title bar of the properties window.
Next, Entering in the properties window a display of 6199 means that it
is listening on port 6199 + 5900 = 12099, so you would need to type
ip.mymachine:12099, Or if you want port 6199 - 5900 = 299 would need to
be placed into the display properties.

To clean up and make it work.

With the service running.
Open regedit and delete hkey_current_user/software/orl/winvnc3
Next open default properties for vnc (winvnc -defaultsettings)
Set the password, uncheck auto, enter 299 for the display. Click okay
Then restart either the winvnc server (net stop winvnc then net start
winvnc) or reboot the machine.

All should now be good.

Subject: VNC and multipul PC's on a NAT network

Hello....
I am trying to set up VNC on a number of computers at home so I have
cess to
there desktops through VNC while at work. The problem is that I can not
figure
out how to set up the servers to listen to certain ports.

For example....

Main Server - VNC works fine on default settings of a blank install
workstation 01 - VNC server has the "auto" option unchecked, and 6199
put in
the field
workstation 02 - VNC server has the "auto" option unchecked, and 6198
put in
the field

When I am at work I load up the vnc viewer and type into the box
"myip.is.this.number:6199" or "myip.is.this.number:6198" and no
connection,
though is I just type "myip.is.this.number" I get the desktop of my
server.

Any help would be appreciated.

Steve
