I use VNC to allow a Windows 2000 Server to control several Windows XP Pro workstations.
One of the workstations refuses to work with VNC. When I launch the VNC Viewer from the server to try to control the problem workstation, I see the workstation desktop for a few seconds and then the connection is broken. I have found that if I continuously move the server mouse the connection stays alive as long as the mouse is moving (cursor not allowed to settle). As soon as the cursor settles, the connection is broken in about 2-3 seconds. While moving the cursor, I can quickly click on the workstation's desktop icons, and they will open appropriate windows, and allow the workstation's functions to be controlled. But, as soon as I allow the cursor to settle for more than 2-3 seconds the connection is broken. The other workstations work fine with VNC - no loss of connection. Does anyone know what could cause such behavior in VNC? How can it be corrected? Thank you, for any help you can send.
