Hi,

Im new to the Linux world and I have a RedHat 9.0 Linux server at home with
Linux x86 VNC Server installed on it. If I type vncserver :5 from the linux
box to start a VNC session and then from a Windows XP system, if I run the
vncviewer, all I get is a console screen. Where I work at we have a RedHat
7.3 server running VNC but when I log into this server via VNCViewer, it
displays the desktop gui with all of the icons. Im assuming that I need to
configure something in order to duplicate this on my linux box at home.
Does anyone have any suggestions that I could try or maybe can point me to a
url that talks about how one can setup their vnc sessions to display the
desktop/window gui instead of a console window?

Thanks and Sincerely,
