What did I say to provoke that question?

As a matter of fact I run both Win and Linux at home, and consult for
a couple of all-Windows organizations. I find VNC to be an elegant
solution to the problem of getting a Windows desktop on Linux and vv.

I run the Win machines behind a Linux firewall/NAT/router so they are
hidden from Internet. Not *absolutely* safe but practically safe...

But I see no reason to put a Windows machine idirectly on-line in
ordinary circumstances. When I do I accept the risk.

Hope this helps-
