vnc server problems on windows xp

Hi,

I am experiencing trouble connecting to a vnc server running on a win xp 
home machine. The client machine gets error "FAILED TO CONNECT TO SERVER". 
There is no firewall running on either machine.
I can connect to a vnc server running on win2k from win xp ok. So the 
problem has to lie with the vnc server.
