Sounds like a PC set up as an X terminal. That's why I mentioned that if you can add to the software they download, they could export their session in VNC format. : What maks me think is that they use xdmcp to connect to the X server : running on the server 192.168.55.1 Would this make a different to that : what you wrote??? Not really; what matters here is the X server process, not where any apps are running. And if you can't get the PC-acting-as-X-terminal to run some VNC server, getting the screen content by x11vnc -noshm or by xwd would work the same wherever xdmcp logs them in.
