Before you make a list of VNC limitations, keep in mind a simple chat
client could be typing in notepad since both would have active keyboards.
Full chat is nice, but I have never needed it.

One thing to remember about VNC, a big plus to me, is the ability to
reverse connect from the host to the viewer. This allows simpler configs
of remote clients behind NAT or firewalls. It's important since with ISPs
providing such devices, they will become near standard.

Also, VNC uses only 1 port (TCP), PCA requires 2 (1 UDP), making VNC much
easier to tunnel and encrypt with 3rd party (Open Source) software. This
is great when you do not trust non-disclosed algorithms. I have never been
a fan of the "trust us" algorithm!

I do use PCA though, when dialup to a 98 box is the only method of remote
support. Under NT/2K/XP creating a dialup connect is not too tough. Mixing
the environment works, too. I often connect to a server with PCA, then vnc
to workstations. An important plus with VNC is the cost, which makes
suggesting that it be installed everywhere, a no brainer.
