Hmmm hadn't tried a combination, but I still had a couple of smaller
machines with Beta 4 on them ...

I can't reproduce the problem on these machines 4<=>4, or on any 4<=>3
combination!!

Odd. I'll reinstall at some stage (probably the weekend) and try it again
on the two main machines.

One thing I did notice though. When I was running Beta 4 viewer on my
laptop to Beta 4 server on my desktop - which is the machine pair I was
having trouble with - the mouse pointer on the server system was flashing
away like crazy. On the two smaller machines I see a slight flashing of the
mouse pointer, but nowhere near as bad as it was on the desktop. Under
server 3.3.7, the desktop cursor is steady as a rock.

The desktop is a 1000 MHz AMD Athlon, with 256kb cache, 640 MB RAM, SiS 5598
graphics, running 1024x768 24-bit colour. The laptop is a Toshiba Satellite
1800: 800 MHz Celeron, with 128kb cache, 192 MB RAM, Trident CyberBlade Ai1
graphics, running 1024x768 16-bit colour.

The two smaller machines were ... Desktop 350 MHz PII, with 512kb cache, 192
MB RAM, Matrox MGA-G200 graphics, running 1024x768 32-bit colour. Libretto
CT100: Pentium 166, 64 MB RAM, NeoMagic MagicGraph 128ZV graphics, running
800x480 16-bit colour.
