I work for a company that has been using webex
extensively, they shell out a lot of money a month to
be able to support kiosk in the field via the web.

I have been reading quite a bit about VNC, and noticed
that VNC has the ability to initiate a connection from
the server end. I also noticed a few web VNC proxies.
Would this allow me to create a connection from a
machine in the field to our tech machine both behind
firewalls, and both on natted networks?

I understand that the polling an connection initiating
software would have to be written that is no problem,
I am an accomplished delphi developer with much
experience with SOAP and other web RPC. I am also an
intermediate c/c++ developer.

I have begun reading the code base and I was wondering
how difficult it would be to port the protocols and
server/client to Delphi? Or at the least turn VNC
into libraries I could call to create a custom server
and client implementation.

Ultimately I would like to build an open source tool
that imitates WebEx with the very excellent VNC as the
backbone. I have not seen anything else that come
close to WebEx open source but if there is please let
me know if you are aware of an alternate.

I apologize if this information is available
elsewhere, and if these are to topical of questions
for good answers. But any help would be appreciated.
 Thank you in advance.

Regards,
Jose D. Raffucci
