Yes, the standard Win"K "grey" isn't an exact grey - it has slightly more red than green and blue. When in 64 colour mode this gets exaggerated because the red value is one side of the threshold and the green and blue the other side. If you can't live with it, the best thing to do is to pass lowcolourlevel=2 as an argument to the viewer. This will use 256 colours for slow connections rather than 64 colours.
