Neville, at the office, you are probably on an in-house net and accessing the internet via proxy. You are likely not going to be able to use vnc between those two computers. You might get your security and network guys to allow connections via ssh and then set up an ssh tunnel to forward the port to your machine for you. That would work going from the office to home but not vice-versa unless you can convince them to set up an ssh tunneling server in the DMZ behind the corporate firewall.
