CJuanne:
Heya. Your problems sound *very* similar to what
DMFontz was seeing earlier in the week. In his case, it turned
out to be that ZoneAlarm (a personal firewall, similar to
Norton's) was not completely disabled.
So instead of shutting Norton off completely, use
its configuration screens to expressly *allow* connections
to TCP 5900 and TCP 5800, and leave it running. Then try VNC
again.
hope this helps,
Scott
