Sorry, by 'host' I mean the vnc-server computers that actually run the apps that slow down so much. I have checked the viewer's cpu usage while connected, it varies between 0 and 2 percent. Yes, I do close the connection to save time, but that's not acceptable for every program I use remotely. This one program uses all available cpu capacity (typically 90-99%), even if it's not doing anything. Poor programming if you ask me, but I'll have to make do. That program is pretty much unusable running on a computer with a live vnc connection. Is it perhaps that WinVNC (3.3.7) is very susceptible to low cpu availablility?
