Apart from trying VNC4, maybe you could try different level of color-depth in
viewer side.
IMO, it seems to be a matter of hardware. I have similar computers (CPU
frequencies similar, bus frequencies similar) but they could perform differently.
How is VNC getting what's drawn on the screen? From Video RAM, I suppose. If
Video RAM isn't fast enough, could it cause this slowness?
