I've tried everything to get VNC to work with SSH tunneling but I have failed at the last hurdle. Here is a description of my set up:
Computer 1: VNC Server listening on 5800/5900 Loopback connections Allowed Cygwin SSH server
Computer 2: Putty forwarding port localhost:5801 to Computer1:5800 using SSH2
Heres what happens:
Log into SSH - Everything works fine
Open up browser and point to localhost:5801 - Everything is fine - get VNC console window.
Enter password - "Connection Refused"
This error is different to the Loopback Connections, Wrong Password and anti Hammer errors.
Can someone please help!
Oooh - and if it means anything - I have to shut down and then restart the VNC service once per boot to get it to work.
Cheers,
Alistair.
