During VNC installation, there's a dialog asking if you want to create some icon and if you want to install VNC as a service and start it. If you had chosen these options but afterwards you run "Install as a service", I don't know what that would give.

I'm using the default display number; in fact I haven't changed any default settings except the password. I've had this issue through several rebuilds of my computer, and each time to install I simply run the VNC installer, run the "install as a service" shortcut, then reboot. Also, it's not that l have to be *logged in* to connect to VNC - I have to log in, and then stop/start the VNC service. If the computer has just been rebooted, or has been rebooted but VNC has not been stop/started, then when trying to connect I just get "Failed to connect to server." from the viewer. So, to recap: I install VNC, set the password, run "install as a service", then reboot, then login. At this point I cannot connect to VNC. Then I stop/start the VNC service, and then I can connect. If you have any other thoughts on how to fix this issue, I'd appreciate it. thanks, andy > -----Original Message----- > From: "KIMA Informatikdienste - Mag. The simplest is to reinstall VNC and follow the > install steps found in the website. _______________________________________________ VNC-List mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] To remove yourself from the list visit: http://www.realvnc.com/mailman/listinfo/vnc-list _______________________________________________ VNC-List mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] To remove yourself from the list visit: http://www.realvnc.com/mailman/listinfo/vnc-list
