I4ts not PCMCIA card, but I don4t know if its integrated in the motherboard since I didn4t ever open the thing. Overheat? don4t think so. connectivity cracks always. no matter if i made a fresh reboot, after running a while nor recovering from sustain mode. So far: reinstalling SP4 didn4t help. now I keep running 4.0b4 with a loglevel of 100 so see in more detail whats the problem, but so far vnc keeps going....

And the network adapter, is it integrated in the motherboard (ie the laptop) or is it in a PCMCIA card? So, it seems like your connectivity cracks in sustain mode. Overheat?? -----Original Message----- From: KIMA Informatikdienste - Mag. (both with std. parameters) I4ll give the different networkcard a try, but this is a laptop and so it will take some time. I4ll report when I have more details. thx for your ideas. I4ll also try the suggested tactics from James Weatherall -----Urspr|ngliche Nachricht----- Von: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Auftrag von Seak, Teng-Fong Gesendet: Samstag, 08. On the other hand, after those 3 or 4 min, is there any screen saver activated on the server side? Is it possible to try another network card? From the log, there's the mentioned "dormant mode". I don't know what it is or what that means. Hope someone else knows. -----Original Message----- From: KIMA Informatikdienste - Mag. Reinstall doesn4t help, I4ve tried all versions of VNC. and here is my eventlog: Started and Winsock (v 2) initialised bufsize expanded to 4352 Registered connection with app Connected to xxxxx port 5911 RFB server supports protocol version 3.3 Connected to RFB server, using protocol version 3.3 VNC authentication succeeded Clipboard changed Don't send initial clipboard! Again: With the other Computer in my net (also w2k server) no probs. -----Urspr|ngliche Nachricht----- Von: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Auftrag von Seak, Teng-Fong Gesendet: Montag, 03. You could check in the event log to see if anything is written there before your network connection is broken. If you think the cause if VNC, you could reinstall it to see if this improves anything. > -----Message d'origine----- > De : KIMA Informatikdienste - Mag.
