AFAIK, VNC doesn't meddle with Windows' security.

        When your problem occurs, have you tried to close the viewer and restart it 
again?  On the other hand, is your XP pro patched with SP1 and hotfixes if you think 
it's a security issue?  Or does it have memory problem?  And have you read the event 
log to see if anything unusual had happened before this?
