I don't get the point ......

        Whatever your application is, when the screensaver is up, that means the 
system has been idle for some time, and that means your application hasn't been used 
for some time and whatever is drawn on the screen isn't visible because the screen is 
"occupied" by the screensaver!
        And when the user comes back to his computer (and uses your application), and 
once he moves the mouse or press a key, the screensaver will go away.  It won't 
certainly not go away immediately because the system needs probably to recover some 
stacked memory from the swap and refresh all active windows, but the screensaver will 
certainly go away.

        Sorry, but there's really no point of thinking VNC and screen saver.  I'll 
stop here and if anyone wants to comment pro & con on this matter, feel free to do so
