I've had similar problems. When I "Send Ctrl-Alt-Del" then "Lock
Computer", I'm no longer able to enter anything thru the keyboard, either
in the Username or Password fields. I can however move the mouse between
the two fields, even double-click to select my username. I'm just not
able to type anything. The problem persists even when I disconnect VNC
and go straight to the server console. The problem clears when I do
another "Send Ctrl-Alt-Del" thru VNC, or Ctrl-Alt-Del at the console.
This behavior is consistent on every Win2K server that I've installed VNC
4 on.

I've tried password copy/paste like you did, but couldn't get it to paste.
I've also not experienced the weirdness that you did with the mouse
buttons.
