I cannot believe I was that impatient. I waited for about 5 mins, and then I was able 
to connect!

Bonnie,

Have you tried waiting for a few minutes after booting before trying to
connect in?  Windows can sometimes take a long time to load certain
services, leading to the problem you describe.
