Hi All,

I've started using VNC to support friends, most of whom are behind a
firewall. To get around this I run the VNC Viewer in Listener Mode and
then get them to install VNC Server and do the 'Add Client...' thing so
they can initiate the connection from behind their firewall and then I
can take control of their PC and help.

Unfortunately, for the kind of people I'm trying to help, it's a quite a
bit of effort to get them to install the Full VNC app, don't choose to
install the service and then right click the tray icon to add client ...
yada yada.. but it does work.

I was wondering if there's a more simple cut down version of the VNC
server that I could give them for doing this. It would be nice to let
them download an .exe (from my web page or yours) that they can install
that simply starts up and asks for an IP address. When they enter the IP
and hit enter, it hits my listening VNC Viewer and hey presto, stressed
out friend now has someone to hold their hand and fix their PC.

Is there such a thing or does anyone have any other suggestions to establish a
'callback' from someone at a remote PC behind a firewall, so I can remotely
control their machine?

thanks
