Hi. I've been having fun playing with VNC. Use it to control my desktop
from my notebook, behind a built-in firewall, so I can play music from my
bedroom. (I know this is a lame way to use such a robust product), but I am
trying to configure it for some work uses. At home and work we have
Actiontec DSL modems set up wireless. 128 Wep encryption. I changed the DSL
settings to allow remote management and remote telnet. It has settings for
port forwarding which I do not understand. Also, not sure if I am putting
in the right IP address in VNC Viewer. I have been trying something like
192.168.0.4,xxx.xxx.xx.xx and I have received this: "Unable to resolve host
by name: The requested name is valid and was found in the database, but it
does not have the correct associated data being resolved for. (11004)" Just
wondering if anyone sees any errors or suggestions. I have no problems in a
subnet environment. Using Win2000 machines. -Jeff
