You have to have more than port 80 forwarded. You also have to have a second
port for the RFB, as I understand it. I think if you read the archives of
this list, you'll find several people trying to do this. Also, the firewall
at work may block by protocol, such that ONLY http will work on port 80. You
might also see if you can get SSH through the firewall at work, or try the
port for https, as I've read that that port will work as well. Best thing to
do is read the archives of this list and you'll get a better handle on what
you can and cannot do.

Hi folks - I've read all the info and for some reason cannot make this work
for me
Running VNC server at home.
Attempting to get onto home computer from work.
Work blocks EVERY port except the general ones (ie PORT 80 for web browser)
VNC server running on computer1
I have the VNC server set to port 80 (through regedit) on computer1
I forwarded port 80 on the firewall to computer1
(for the heck of it I also opened the DMZ to computer1 - just in case)
I then went to work and attempted to connect to server:65616
Nothing - not even an error. Did not ask for my password or anything.
I also attempted to set the VNC java viewer to port 80 (via regedit) but
that didn't work either.
computer1 is running windowsXP home - no winxp firewall on (using a hardware
firewall)
What else can I do to make this work on port 80 through http?
