I finally succeeded in getting VNC to serve on a Redhat Linux box. If anyone wants the instructions I've laid out in a Word document (for people facing the same problems perhaps), please let me know and I'll send it your way. My problem was allowing port 5901 in the iptables firewall rules.
Also, I start the vncserver by entering 'vncserver :1' via a terminal each time. How can I make this run at boot time on a Redhat Linux machine?
I'd say that if you post them to the list it will be nice for people who view the archive while searching Google (this is archived right?).
Otherwise you may get an email in 6 months asking for the document.
