Check the archives. I think VNC Scan is one. I believe RealVNC may have an app that'll do it as well. Looking at their site, it appears that it's only available in the Enterprise version. You might also try a Google search on "VNC Remote Deploy" or something like that. -----Original Message----- From: Andrew Dorre [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, March 09, 2005 4:22 PM To: John Aldrich; [email protected] Subject: RE: Distributing VNC server across network... Do you have any links or anything, or at least a good term to search on? -----Original Message----- From: John Aldrich [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, March 09, 2005 1:50 PM To: Andrew Dorre; [email protected] Subject: RE: Distributing VNC server across network... There are a couple apps that will let you remotely install VNC from a master machine, however, you will have to have admin priveleges to do this, of course. -----Original Message----- From: Andrew Dorre [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, March 09, 2005 2:27 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Distributing VNC server across network... Hi all, I administer a few hundred pc's for the state DOT in Arizona. We were looking into VNC because we have a small group of Macs. But I have to say, Real VNC is a very cool product. We've been using Dameware, and VNC is much cleaner, much more efficient. But I searched all over the site and couldn't find any info on whether or not there is a way for you to connect to a client without the server software installed. Does that make sense? For example, I would like to know if it's possible to use the viewer to try and connect to a client, without first installing the server software. So that when you connect to the client it automatically installs the server service for you. I take it this would be a big security risk, but does anyone know of a way to configure the options and distribute this program across a large network... or am I going to have use built msi's from Microsoft? _______________________________________________ VNC-List mailing list [email protected] To remove yourself from the list visit: http://www.realvnc.com/mailman/listinfo/vnc-list _______________________________________________ VNC-List mailing list [email protected] To remove yourself from the list visit: http://www.realvnc.com/mailman/listinfo/vnc-list _______________________________________________ VNC-List mailing list [email protected] To remove yourself from the list visit: http://www.realvnc.com/mailman/listinfo/vnc-list _______________________________________________ VNC-List mailing list [email protected] To remove yourself from the list visit: http://www.realvnc.com/mailman/listinfo/vnc-list
