Hello John.
1) Both PC are straight to the Internet.
2) As I told, firewalls seems to work because: I get password query. If I enter a wrong one, the server request another one. When I enter the valid one, The server seems to open a session...
3) I tried 'Telnet -a -l WINUSER XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX PORT' and got a 'RFB 003.008'. (I don't speak Telnet fluently...)
Maybe this could help... Best regards, JPB.

Next question: 1) Is there a router (cable/dsl/T1/etc) between the machines or is it straight to the internet? 2) Is the XP firewall enabled/disabled/selectively disabled?
Other than that, I don't know what to say. What happens when you try to telnet on port 5900? You should get the RFB statement in your telnet window. If that works, then there's something strange going on which is out of my league. Maybe someone else on the list will have another suggestion. John

Hello John.
1) Both PC are XP SP2 workstation.
2) VNC Server running as service.
3) There is a firewall on both PC allowing Defined VNC Server Port. (I think this works because password test works).
4) I try to connect VNC Server with VNC Client.
I do this with 4 other Servers over Internet wothout any problem.
Hope this could help, JPB.

Need more information, please... For example, what operating systems are
you
talking about? Is there a firewall or router between the two machines? Please give some details on how you're trying to connect.

Dear All.
I encounter a strange thing.
When I connect to VNC server through Internet:
1) I get Password prompt (good thing).
2) If I enter a wrong password, VNC server reject it and ask for a valid one (good thing).
3) If I enter the good one, I see a small title bar and nothing else...
4) When I look at Connection infos, it gives me a 0X0 screen size...
Any idea? _______________________________________________ VNC-List mailing list [email protected] To remove yourself from the list visit: http://www.realvnc.com/mailman/listinfo/vnc-list _______________________________________________ VNC-List mailing list [email protected] To remove yourself from the list visit: http://www.realvnc.com/mailman/listinfo/vnc-list
