Hello Everyone, I have a problem that I can't seem to overcome and would greatly appreciate some assistance. Some background, all of the computers I mention are running VNC 4.1, Windows 2000 Professional, and ZoneAlarm Pro 5 (latest edition). Here's the story. I have three computers connected peer-to-peer at one location. I have the same admin account established on all of them with the same pwd. One of those computers is set to answer the phone after 2 rings. My other computer at the other location dials in to that comp to attempt to access the network and use VNC. My problem is if the receiving computer is not logged in, I can't VNC in to it. If it's sitting at the login prompt, then I can connect to it (it answers the phone and connects), but the VNC connection fails everytime. I've searched through the archives and found that their have been some complaints in the past about ZoneAlarm Pro and VNC - specifically the startup order of those programs (both are a service) and the conflict. I'm totally stumped as to what the cause is. I've tried opening port 5900 in ZoneAlarm for all traffic all the time and that doesn't change anything. I think it may be related to Windows Networking as I can't connect to any of the shared folders or other computers via VNC if the receiving computer is not logged in. If the receiving computer is logged in then all is well, I can VNC in to it or the others with no issue as well as connected to shared folders. But if it's not logged in, no dice. I've tinkered around with the RAS settings to no avail either and can't figure it out. Anyone have any ideas? It's driving me crazy. I've had to leave that comp logged in all the time to get connected and can't seem to sort it out. My thanks in advance! -Jesse _______________________________________________ VNC-List mailing list [email protected] To remove yourself from the list visit: http://www.realvnc.com/mailman/listinfo/vnc-list
