I have a question about multiple computers inside of a lan, being accessed
from the WAN.

I have 4 computers inside my hame LAN, and would like to be able to access
all of them outside the WAN. I know I can change the port numbers on
everything, one could be 5900, one 5910 one 5920 and one 5930 is I wanted.
but how does the "viewer" program on the computer I want to access from,
know what port I want to go to. in the view I just put in my ip
xxx.xxx.xxx.xx. would I put it in xxx.xxx.xxx.xx:5930 if I wanted the third
computer.

What you need to do is to set up port forwarding on your router. So for instance port 5900 on the external interface is routed to port 5900 of machine A, and port 5910 on the external interface is forwarded to port 5900 on machine B. That way all of your machines can still use the default port number.

Exactly how you set up port forwarding depends on the router you use.
