Mickey, The viewer can already handle arbitrary-sized desktops, limited only by the available resources of the viewer computer.
What would be useful to know is what error you get when the connection fails during the initial screen download. It would also be useful to know whether either viewer or server computer are connected via a wireless link to the Internet, and whether you still see the problem if you make sure not to move the mouse while the display contents are coming in (yes, this may actually make a difference...)
