Just to clarify, EchoVNC isn't its own VNC Server. It's
just a tool to enable VNC connections to standard VNC Servers
without having to make any port-forwarding or firewall-exception adjustments for the VNC Server PC.

Aaron,

Have you tried using the standard VNC release instead of EchoVNC?

Are you using the external IP address when trying to connect to the server
via the router? The 192.168.x.x is LAN-only and not accessible to the
Internet.

One thing to note is that many modern routers can't handle connections to
their forwarded ports from machines within the same LAN, for some reason.

When your friends "sniff" port 5900, do they get the correct "RFB xxx.yyy"
response?
