Hi James,

Don't forget to CC the VNC list when replying, so all can benefit.
Actually, from those logs, it looks like everything is working.
You are getting a default twm window manager in your own VNC desktop. 
This is normal.
What is your intent, to control the main console display (display :0)?
If so, you need to follow separate instructions to do that.
