Check the archives (from around the 29 July) - you need to comment out
dri loading to avoid the crash. Why this occurs is uncertain but I
have the following on the machine that freezes with vnc and dri loaded
:-

- Ubuntu 5.04
- Kernel 2.6.10
- Asus A7V600-X
- Graphics card (uncertain and cannot check at the moment)

It may help if those that have the problem list their
hardware/kernel/Xserver info. here to see if we can find a common
denominator.
