Are the two computers on the same network (is there a router or firewall or
the internet between them)?

In the server's configuration, under the connections tab, what is listed in
the access control box?

Try this from a command prompt on the viewer end
telnet xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 5900
where xxx is the IP, note there is a space in between the last part of the
ip and the 5900

If you see a connect failed message then something is blocking your
connection.
