http://www.whatismyip.com is your friend. Or you can use one of the dynamic DNS providers to give her computer a name that is resolveable from the outside. Something like "mycomputer.example.com" or whatever domain names are available from your preferred dynamic DNS provider. I currently have an account with dyndns.com using one of their domains and also have an account with ZoneEdit.com using my own domain name.

Hi guys, Im trying to have VNC setup on a friends computer who uses qwest (with static ip) on the actiontec gt-701 modem. I opened the dmz host and port fowarded 5900 for the internal ip of 192.168.0.4. But when I try to enter the IP address to connect to the computer, I still get "unable to connect to host: Connection refused (10061)" Now if I go into the viewer and type in the internal ip of 192.168.0.4 it loads fine, but Im trying to get the viewer to show the external so I can connect to it from my PC at home. Please help! Thanks, Ed __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
