You can find a lot of help at http://www.portforward.com. They have instructions on a lot of routers, but not all by any stretch of the imagination. I would suggest you look there, and if you don't find the instructions there, check back here. Also, you can check your configuration by going to http://www.gotomyvnc.com and they'll scan your router to see if they can find a listening VNC server. If they don't find a listening server, that'll let you know you need to do more configuration. If they do, then you know the problem isn't with the router and you need to look at the client, not the server.
-----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Ravi Teja Sent: Friday, October 07, 2005 11:06 AM To: [email protected] Subject: No-ip with UltraVNC I have installed no-ip on the remote computer and installed UltraVNC as per the documentation. But when i wanted to connect to this system from external environment through internet it says "Failed to connect to server". I even opened up the ports 5800, 5801, 5900, 5901 and also tried with turning of firewall. After a lot of googling and research i came to know that the port forwarding to router is needed . Could somebody help me out how this is done sted by step. Please help. Thanks in advance. - RT _______________________________________________ VNC-List mailing list [email protected] To remove yourself from the list visit: http://www.realvnc.com/mailman/listinfo/vnc-list _______________________________________________ VNC-List mailing list [email protected] To remove yourself from the list visit: http://www.realvnc.com/mailman/listinfo/vnc-list
