For the record, I strongly urge you to contact your IT/IS people and get
their authorization, as failure to do so could cause problems.

Hi John,
I'm not sure I know how to do the first point.
For the second point I enabled the access of the VNC to any port in my
BitDefender and also in Win Firewall. This is done already. The thing is
that from another win machine, and even from another country my brother
could connect to my win pc, but from work ( RH for 64bit AMD) I cannot get
any answer for the VNC.
Simply put: from an XP machine it works, from a linux not. I think it is
worth telling you some other things.
There is a server on our lan at work to which I can do an SSH from wherever
I want. But on my linux PC on my desk SSH does not work. So I think my pc is
behind a firewall and the server not. But even from the server I can not
connect to my win pc at home :((((((((((((((

Any other hints?
