When I start vncserver simply by using the
vncserver
command with not options, I get no errors.
Then when I try to connect via vnc viewer, I get a connection refused
error. If I do the lsof command given in the troubleshooting section,
I see my apache server, my webmin server but no vncserver started. I
redid the experiment with the same results. Is there any reason it
would die on its own without error? I have a basic install of Debian.
Don't leave out any "stupid" explainations. I have never tried to
set this up before on a machine I wasn't at.
