Andrew,

"Poll console windows for updates" causes console windows (.e.g. Command
Prompt windows) to be polled for updates, since the normal VNC Hooks
mechanism doesn't work for such windows.

You may wish to try VNC Server Personal or Enterprise Edition
(http://www.realvnc.com/products/enterprise), which can make use of the VNC
Mirror Driver beta (http://www.realvnc.com/products/beta/vncmirror) to
improve performance.

Cheers,

Wez @ RealVNC Ltd.
