Thank you very much, right as you said that I am trying to access the
:0 session, I intalled the tightvnc and use the "x0vncserver" command, and
I can control the server with remote access now.

It sounds like you're trying to access the :0 session, much like you would
if you were logging into a Windows server. Linux does not work that way.
There is the "remote desktop assistance" application in some versions of
linux, which is basically just VNC, or you can launch the VNC server using
initd at boot. At this time, *I* don't know of any other way to control
the
first local console session other than to have it launched by the user.

Hi all:
I have installed the vnc server on linux 2.4.21-20.ELsmp, and I can
access the server using the windows xp vncviewer.
First, on the linux server, I login as demo and start the
vncserver,
and I run some application program such capture screen on the server.
If I login from xp viewer, I just can do something like opening a
terminal,I can not see and control what the server is doing, for
example:the capture screen application program which I am runing on the
server.
Someone told me we can see and control what the server is doing
using
the viewer, I am not sure whether it's possible? If it's OK, could anyone
kindly send me some suggestions to accomplish it?
