Are you talking about trying to connect to a computer in the same building
or to a computer out on the internet somewhere? If the latter, are you
trying to connect to an address like 192.168.xxx.yyy or 10.10.xxx.yyy? If
so, that's not going to work. You'll need to have the person at the server
side visit something like http://www.gotomyvnc.com and it'll tell them their
*real* IP address, which is what you'll use. Assuming everything else is
configured correctly, this should fix you. There are other things that will
need to be configured properly to connect to another PC over the internet,
in all likelihood.
I would recommend you review the FAQs at http://faq.gotomyvnc.com and
http://www.realvnc.com/faq.html for more information.

Subject: connecting to server

Where do you find the server name or should it be the IP address? I cannot
connect to the server from the viewing computer. I have tried using the IP
address that pops up when I hold the mouse over the icon on the server, but
it
will not make a connection. Thanks for any assistance.
