Just a quick post for the benefit of others who may be having similar
problems to the ones I had.
New install of Fedora (core 5) turned on VNC, turned off the firewall
and SELinux. Still got connection refused (10061) error. The problem
was simply not specifying the display I wanted to connect to. On Windows
I've always just typed the IP (eg 10.18.6.100) and it worked, but to
connect to the Fedora machine I needed to type 10.18.6.100:1
